Median House Prices in central Austin continue to climb.
The economic downturn continues to avoid central Austin. The stats for 9 months ending Aug 31, 2010 indicate the median home prices for 78703, 78704, and 78705 are up for 2010. Amazing. Median prices outside of central Austin appear to have significantly fallen. As those are among the nicest zips, I'm convinced this market strength indicates the increasing delta between the haves and the have nots. Obviously median and mean are very different things and even if the median prices are up b/c the volume is down, it still lends proof to my hypotheses.
